In 2022, Upper Macungie Township  partnered with the consulting firm Simone Collins Landscape Architecture to develop a Trail Study and Walkability Plan for the entire Township. During the course of the project the U.S. Congress passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law which designated grant funding of $5 billion over five years to a program called Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A). One of the requirements for submission to the SS4A program was to develop a Vision Zero Action Plan (VZAP).

Because many of the requirements to adopt such a plan were already underway as part of the Trail Study, the Township decided to expand the scope of the Trail Study in order to develop the VZAP in anticipation of future grant submissions.

The 18-month process concluded in June 2023 with the adoption of the Upper Macungie Township Vision Zero Action Plan - the entire contents of which are available below in PDF format. (Please note that some of the file sizes are large.)
